Training FAQs

Before You Enroll

What should my dog know before starting?

Nothing at all. Puppy Basics assumes a blank slate, and Everyday Manners meets your dog where they are — the free evaluation tells us exactly which starting point fits.

Do you use shock or prong collars?

Never. We’re a force-free facility: flat collars, harnesses, treats, and play. If another trainer has recommended aversive tools, bring your questions — we’ll show you the kinder alternative.

Can training be added to daycare or boarding?

Yes — that’s our Day-Train program. Your dog plays in daycare between three short training sessions, and you get a pickup lesson plus a written plan for $95 per day.

What if my dog is reactive to other dogs?

Start with Private Coaching. We’ll work at a distance your dog can handle, build calm focus step by step, and only introduce group settings when your dog is genuinely ready.
